Townhouse Smoke Damage in Chicago

The fire in this Chicago townhouse coated the high entrance way with dirty and smelly soot and smoke. The fire damage was topical and not structural meaning the cleanup and restoration was not a large project. The layers of soot can be wiped off, without smearing, with specialty sponges and detergents. The odors can be chemically altered with hydroxyl generators and thermal fogging to render them odorless. To ensure that no residual (physical) smells remain, a primer with odor-inhibiting properties is painted on the walls and ceiling.
