Water Leak in Marquette Park and Damaged Flooring

The failed cut-off valve in the adjoining powder room flooded this Marquette Park home. The hardwood flooring installed over a plywood subfloor posed a difficult water removal challenge. Mitigating damage and replacement of expensive building materials and their installation costs, swift water removal was needed. The air mover is finishing up the drying process in the Before Photo. Already removed, heated, drying mats suctioned the moisture that had seeped into the joints of the hardwood planks and the laminated sheathing.
