Fire & Water - Cleanup & Restoration

Fire Damage in Marquette Park Condos Mitigated and Rebuilt -- SERVPRO

Fire damage is one of the most overwhelming situations people can find themselves in. A condominium complex suffered significant damage that spread to multiple floors and units. We know that the sooner cleanup starts for this type of loss, the better the chance to halt the spread of soot and odors to areas of the complex that were not affected by the blaze.

When SERVPRO technicians handled a condominium fire damage event in Marquette Park that affected multiple stories with catastrophic damage but thankfully no injuries, we immediate blocked off the unaffected residences with plastic to stop the issue of cross-contamination that could bring fire odors to units currently without damage.

Charred contents and items too damaged from fire or water for restoration were removed as they only contribute to odor if they remain on the premises. As our technicians clean the fire loss debris from the structure, they look at each piece to see the potential for restoration. We try to restore as much as we can from small knick-knacks with sentimental value to hobbies that the owner has invested in such as a large-size aquarium in one of the units we were able to salvage and restore for his use again.

SERVPRO technicians are certified in all types of restoration techniques, including controlled demolition. Sometimes portions of a structure are restorable, and other pieces are not. We remove the charred and ruined drywall, carpeting and debris while leaving parts that can be mitigated and built around during our final phase of restoration.

Before our building services can work on rebuilding the fire loss units, the premises needed to thoroughly disinfected and deodorized to ensure we are not building over fire odors. The full restoration included replacing carpeting, painting, and all new kitchens where residents in units #301 and #308 could get back to collecting knick-knacks and enjoying keeping fish once again.

SERVPRO of Marquette Park / West Lawn / Ford City has emergency response teams for fire damage restoration available at (773) 337-3993. We arrive within hours after your initial call and work until the fire loss is "Like it never even happened."
