Turning Large Loss Training into Productive Restoration
When a 200,000-square-foot manufacturing facility suffered fire and smoke damage, our reputation made us a trusted name – even when we were not in the same state! Fortunately for this massive commercial property, the full measure of our Zubricki team and its franchises were meeting for year-in-review training on large loss response and better practices moving forward. When we got the call about a business in trouble, we put the training on hold to help right away.
With our state-of-the-art facility for rapid mobilization shared by our Chicago area Team Zubricki franchises, dozens of technicians arrived immediately from the conference to begin stocking smoke cleanup equipment and products. Because of the scope of this cleanup and the number of our professionals involved, we even brought out our 40-foot rapid response trailer to keep production techs stocked with personal protective equipment, deodorants, chemical sponges, and other cleaning elements.
In several of the images, part of our team worked on setting up a stable and substantially sized staging tent in the facility's parking lot. The other portion of our responding professionals worked on mitigating further loss in the building by covering all exposed equipment, utilities, and surfaces to make the cleanup more efficient. Multiple machines and mechanical assemblies were covered entirely in thick plastic sheeting, and measures began to clear environmental threats.
From the locker room areas shown in the slides to the exposed supports and beams of the ceiling, every surface required attention to get the business up and running again. Our SERVPRO team used multiple scissors and man-lifts to reach challenging areas and provide the consistent cleanliness expected of our technicians. While fortunately there were no structural damages, surface residues presented a threatening timeline to clear acidic and corrosive soil deposits from the metal machinery, equipment, electronics, and exposed construction materials. Thanks to our fast action, this valuable equipment was unharmed, allowing production to resume when we pulled out from the parking lot with our fleet.
Our insistence on dropping everything and responding to this business in need helped prevent the situation from worsening. Our SERVPRO of Marquette Park / West Lawn / Ford City team could quickly get this business back up and running.
